The Ecosystem’m, is an innovative aquaponics farm combining market gardening, fish farming and insect breeding. It is inspired by natural ecosystems, where waste from one becomes the resource of another. Insects will convert the food co-products into quality proteins for trout. The trout will produce fertilizer for the plants, which will purify the water before it returns to the fish. Thus, sustainable and quality food will be offered in partnership with local stakeholders. An answer to the environmental problems of traditional production (overfishing, waste, use of fertilizers, water and energy consumption). The Ecosystem offers a comprehensive and promising approach to more sustainable agriculture.
